Dedicated ATS Server
For anyone looking to run a personal American Truck Simulator Dedicated Server on Linux or Windows
Prerequisites for both Linux & Windows Instructions
Prerequisites
- See SCS Modding Dedicated Server Docs for official Documentation on how to set Moderators and such
- Important, You will need to generate a Server Logon Token here: Steam Game Server Management, Game Ownership is required.. The Game's AppID is: 270880
- For Enabling the console in American Truck Simulator follow these steps Game MUST be closed,
- Head to
C:\users\"user"\Documents\American Truck Simulator
and openconfig.cfg
in notepad and change bothuset g_console "0"
&uset g_developer "0"
to 1 and save the file - Launch American Truck Simulator and go to drive mode, Once in drive mode.. Open the console with
~
(Next to the 1 key) and typeexport_server_packages
, These will be used later
Instructions (for Linux)
- Install SteamCMD by following the steps from here: SteamCMD Install Instructions
- Type
force_install_dir /home/"user"/ATS
(just an example, You can set it to where ever you like) replace "user" with your user account name - Type
login anonymous
to login to the public steam account - Type
app_update 2239530 validate
to tell SteamCMD to download and validate the game server files - Type
exit
to exit SteamCMD - Copy the
server_packages
file(s) to/home/user/.local/share/American Truck Simulator
, You may need to create the folder if it does not exist already - Open
server_config.sii
in nano or your preferred text editor, Set your server details here, reference the link from Step 1 and paste the token from Step 2 in the Prerequisites section - Navigate to the path where you installed it so
/home/user/ATS/bin/linux_x64
and run the./server_launch.sh
- Have fun trucking on your server
